Getting started
Setup takes about 30 seconds. Open the app, pick a goal (a trip, a cushion, paying off debt, whatever fits), and you're in.
- Log your first expense by tapping + and typing something like "12 lunch". Penny fills in the rest.
- Your safe-to-spend number appears on Home and updates as you log.
- There is no account to create and nothing to connect. Mula never asks for a bank login.
Scanning tips
Penny reads receipts and bank screenshots right on your phone. To get the cleanest reads:
- Good light helps most. Flatten crumpled receipts and hold the phone steady.
- Make sure the amounts are in the frame. The total matters more than the logo.
- For bank screenshots, capture the transaction list straight from your banking app. Cropping out headers and ads helps.
- Penny shows you everything she found before saving. Review the list, fix anything, then confirm.
- If a scan comes up empty, try again with better light, or just type it. "40 groceries" works fine.
Backup and export
Your data lives only on your phone, so your backup is in your hands too.
- Go to Me, then Backup and tap Export backup.
- Mula creates an encrypted backup file and opens the share sheet.
- Save it anywhere you trust: the Files app, AirDrop to your Mac, or your own cloud drive.
- To restore, tap Import backup on a new phone or a fresh install and pick your file. Restoring merges your data and never wipes what's already there.
Do this before switching phones or deleting the app. We cannot recover your data for you, because we never have it.
Subscriptions
Mula is free to start. Mula Plus and Mula Pro are optional subscriptions billed through Apple. You can subscribe, manage, or cancel anytime in your Apple account settings, and cancellation always sticks. No tricks.
