Mula Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 6, 2026

The short version: Mula collects no data. Everything you enter stays on your phone, in the app. We have no servers that hold your information, no analytics, no ads, and no third-party code. We cannot see your money data, and neither can anyone else through us.

1. Who we are

Mula ("the app") is a personal budgeting app for iPhone, published by the Mula team. You can reach us at penny@mula.money. This policy covers the Mula app and the mula.money website.

2. Data we collect

None. Mula does not collect, transmit, sell, share, or receive any personal data. The app makes no network connections to us or to anyone else to move your data. There is no sign-up, no account, no login, and no bank connection.

On the App Store, Mula's privacy label is "Data Not Collected," and the app is built to keep that true.

3. Where your information lives

Everything you enter into Mula, including transactions, goals, budgets, and settings, is stored in a local database on your device (Apple's SwiftData storage, which keeps the data in an on-device database file inside the app's private container). It is protected by your device's own security, such as your passcode and Face ID.

If you delete the app, that data is deleted with it, unless you have saved your own backup file first.

4. Camera and photo access

Mula can scan a receipt or a bank screenshot to log charges for you. If you choose to use this feature:

5. Backups and exports

Mula can create an encrypted backup file of your data, and paid tiers can export a CSV file. These are started by you, and only by you. The file is handed to the iOS share sheet, and you decide where it goes, such as the Files app, AirDrop, or your own cloud storage. Mula never sends a backup anywhere on its own, and we never receive a copy.

If you contact support, you can optionally export a diagnostic log and email it to us yourself. Nothing is sent automatically, and the default log contains no dollar amounts, balances, or account numbers.

6. Purchases

Optional subscriptions (Mula Plus and Mula Pro) are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store's own billing system (StoreKit). Apple processes the payment; we never see your payment details. Apple's handling of that information is covered by Apple's privacy policy. You can subscribe and cancel anytime through your Apple account.

7. Analytics, advertising, and third parties

Mula contains:

The app may show a link to an external currency-converter website that you can open yourself in your browser. Opening it is your choice, and the link contains no personal information or amounts.

8. This website

The mula.money website is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads nothing from third parties. Our hosting provider may keep standard, short-lived server logs (such as IP addresses) to run the service, as almost all web hosts do; we do not use these to identify or track you.

9. Children

Mula is not directed at children under 13, and because Mula collects no data, no data is collected from anyone, including children.

10. Your choices and rights

Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on our side. You are in full control on your device: you can export your data, delete individual entries, or delete the app to remove everything. If you have questions about your rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA, email us and we will help, though in practice the answer is simple: we have nothing on file about you.

11. Changes to this policy

If we ever change how Mula works in a way that affects privacy, we will update this policy, post it at this address, and change the effective date at the top. If a future change ever involved collecting any data, the app would ask for your clear consent first, inside the app, before anything changed.

12. Contact

Questions about privacy, or anything else: penny@mula.money. For general help, help@mula.money reaches the same friendly humans.
